Characters:

• Arya – is a young, curious and brave photographer who has been fascinated by the animals and their lives forever. She has recently got a budget to take some pictures for National Geographic and she is visiting the African jungles for the first time.

Storyline:

SCENE 1

Arya and the stranger land high in a tree on a branch. Arya is surprised she is not dead after that stare down from the panther.

ARYA 

Who are you?

UNKNOWN VOICE/STRANGER

I’m Tyler. Tyler Bensy. Thanks for saving my dog

ARYA

That was your dog?! What was it doing all the way out here in the jungle? And what are you doing out here too?! [very confused but with adrenalin still pumping through her]

TYLER BENSY

I live out here. I wanted to get away from the toxicity of society so I took my dog Charlie and I went as far away as possible.

ARYA

*Raawwrr*

The panther made its way to the bottom of the tree and startled Arya and Tyler. The panther starts clawing at the bottom of the tree. It starts to climb the base of the tree

ARYA

What are we going to do?! [concerned]

TYLER BENSY

One second [as he looks around for some way to get out of there]

*Woof Woof* [barks]

Charlie came back and distracted the panther

TYLER BENSY

That’s my boy!

The panther changes his interest back to Charlie and starts walking towards him. Charlie immediately sprints away which leaves the space below the tree empty.

TYLER BENSY

Oh no! We have to go after him!

 ARYA

Follow me! Hop in!

Arya slides down the vine to the ground and Tyler follows. They hop in her car and immediately start accelerating after the panther.

 ARYA

We can catch them in this! [rushed]

Arya floors the gas pedal and begins racing after the animals. They go through turns, hit branches off trees, and nearly side-swipe broken trees on the ground. After the quick acceleration from Arya, they can see the animals. Charlie is doing his best to make zig zag movements so the panther can’t get a good attack point.

TYLER BENSY

Come on! Get me close enough!

Arya drives as fast as she can go as the road straightens out. This is the best time for the panther to jump at Charlie but Tyler must get to him first. Arya gets beside Charlie while running very fast. The panther jumps. Tyler leans half his body out of the car and swiftly picks up Charlie

TYLER BENSY

Got him [thankful]

Arya and Tyler are relieved to save Charlie but they see something in the distance…
