The rear axle spins when I try to tighten the wheel nuts, how do I tighten them?

When installing the rear wheels of most car models the nut for both left and right wheels must be tightened at the same time. Hand tighten the nut on each side, and then use the included wrench or spanner to tighten both nuts together.
