These stories are written in a format that allows you to edit the story and the characters to your liking. For example, the name of the main character in this story “James the Wheelobie” can be changed to [Your Child’s Name] the Wheelobie. For instance, if the name of your child is “Jamie”, the name of the main character can be “Jamie the Wheelobie”

Characters:

• James Wheelobie: Once upon a time there was an explorer named James the Wheelobie. He was fast, smart and very handy with cars. He got his nickname, Wheelobie, because of his experience with cars and how he could ride the cars through any obstacle and any weather safely and beautifully.

   

• Brapstein: Was a 60-year-old geologist. He was wise and experienced but very slow. He had recently won a noble prize for his translation of ancient handwritten books.

• Brapstein’s only trustee was Wheelobie. They knew each other from years ago when Dr. Brapstein got in Wheelobie’s car during an Uber Ride.

Storyline:

SCENE 1

Sahara Desert, Egypt, Night time

James Wheelobie and Dr. Brapstein are driving in their car towards the Tomb of Tut Ankh Amun. It is dark out but Dr. Brapstein is able to navigate through just about anything.

JAMES WHEELOBIE

How far are we Doc?

Dr. BRAPSTEIN

We still have about 10 miles until we get there James.

JAMES WHEELOBIE

I guess you should make yourself comfortable then (chuckles.)

Moments later… James notices 2 yellow dots in the distance. Then another 2 pop up, then another set and finally one more set shows up. As James drives closer and closer, he notices several outlines of a bobcat!

JAMES WHEELOBIE

Doc! What do we do?

Dr. BRAPSTEIN

Don’t panic! Stay calm. We are protected in here. Besides, they haven’t done anything to us.

The Bobcats run and jump at the vehicle. One of them making a crack in the glass.

Dr. BRAPSTEIN

Never mind! Drive! Drive!

JAMES WHEELOBIE

You got it!

James floors the gas pedal and starts to drive away but the bobcats are fast as well so they start sprinting towards the vehicle.

JAMES WHEELOBIE

They’re so fast how are we going to lose them?!

Dr. BRAPSTEIN

I don’t know, but James, you need to do what you do best. GET US OUT OF HERE!

Wheelobie starts swerving and doing zigzags so it is harder for the bobcats to gain on them. He then drives frantically and accidently goes off course. He is driving very fast with a cliff closing in quickly.

Dr. BRAPSTEIN

James! Look out!

Wheelobie slams on the brakes and comes to a sliding stop that almost pushes them off the edge of the cliff. The bobcats jump on the car and start to bang and scratch the exterior.

JAMES WHEELOBIE

That was close! Hold on Doc!

Wheelobie puts the car in reverse and starts accelerating very fast.

Dr. BRAPSTEIN

YOU’RE LUCKY I REALLY TRUST YOU!

James spins the car around, goes back down the hill and quickly goes around a corner that provides good coverage from rocks. The Bobcats run by and do not see James or Doc.

JAMES WHEELOBIE

Phew! That was a little too close for comfort. I’m glad this car was very durable (chuckles.)

James and Dr. Brapstein wait out an hour to make sure the bobcats are gone. They then drive again for a little longer towards the Tomb but decide to stop and get some rest. They set up their tent and start a fire to create some light in the dark desert night.

JAMES WHEELOBIE

That was crazy. See you in the morning Doc.
